About Me

I'm a product designer who works foundationally: tokens, theming, kit architecture, the substrate other designers build on top of. But I'm a strategist as much as a systems person. I can see the horizon, break the path to it into actionable steps, and bring people along with me. Thinker, doer, planner, coordinator. The specialty is tokens and systems, but the way I work travels to almost any workstream. Peers call it structural; I call it making the next person's job easier.

At Microsoft I lead Fluent Flex, the modernized token foundation behind Copilot across M365. Rather than hand-picking values, it defines the relationships between them, so themes stay consistent, teams extend without forking, and AI can reason over the system as fluently as designers do. Before that, I spent four years at Wayfair helping build Homebase, their design system, and designing end-to-end flows on Wayfair Professional for customer onboarding and financial credit experiences.

things i'm not so quiet about

AI 🤝 critical thinking

AI has unlocked skills and workflows I never imagined I'd have. It gets me to the interesting part faster and lets me build things I couldn't have built alone. What it doesn't do is replace my critical thinking brain: the judgment about what's worth making, whether it's actually good, and why. I treat it as a partnership, not a substitution.

Work in progress is healthy and human.

I care about the process, the journey, the mess, not just the pretty polished finished thing. That's why this site isn't fully buttoned up. I'm building it piece by piece, in the open. If you catch something half-finished, that's not a bug. That's me, actively working, probably interrupted to get my kids a snack.
